Identity, Web & Motion Graphics
Sergio Noriega is a graphic designer specialised in Corporate Identity and Audiovisual Production. He leads and manages communications projects across a range of design disciplines, and is not restricted to a single field of work or economic sector.
He currently designs and develops websites that are accessible, easy-to-use and constitute a useful asset for companies. He also turns his hand to the creation of motion graphics, as well as video presentations for use online, on television and at sales points.
Even before he began his degree, he was drawn towards dynamic media as a form of expression. While studying Graphic Design at the University of the Americas, Puebla, he took the Audiovisual Production Specialisation from 1995 to 1997. It was here that he began to experiment with applying the fundamentals of cinematographic language to the narration of an interactive sequence onscreen.
His interest in this media has also led him to write, direct and produce film and short video films. In 2002, in Puebla, Mexico, he was commissioned with the creative direction of Canal Cuatro’s new image and the successful TV launch campaign for Club Infantil.
At the same time, and with the advent of the world wide web, he became interested in the design of interfaces for this media. He began developing them on a commercial level through a well-known usability and information architecture consultancy, where he designed corporate websites and portals for the public sector. While working on these projects, the intense exchange of ideas with information architects gave him a solid grounding in key areas such as usability and accessibility, information hierarchisation and good practices.
Years ago now, convinced that the future of the internet lay in usability and universality, he enthusiastically adopted the web standards of the W3 Consortium. He studied XHTML and CSS in great depth in order to go on to develop websites that combined interface transparency and performance efficiency across the vast majority of platforms.
He has developed a diverse portfolio of projects for companies, franchises and government entities such as the International Clean Fund, LLadró, Poligrow and the Mexican Financial Intelligence Unit. He has experience collaborating with companies from a whole range of innovative economic sectors, such as ceramics, architecture, the carbon market, foodstuffs, catering, press and television, among others.
